He shrugs, picks up the phone. Dials the number he knows well from years of pestering his old rival with prank calls, before there was suddenly no more rival to pester. He's ready to hear the ringing suddenly cut out, listen yet again to the message that the number isn't available.
He thinks that for all of about three seconds, and then the most impossibly familiar voice clears it's throat from the other line.

Summary
A take on Chara's backstory, told through their eyes. Details the events that led to them climbing Mt. Ebott and falling into the Underground, and, later, explores the tragedy that lead to the fateful events of a certain route in Undertale. In this story, Chara meets a friend and butts heads with children from a rival village, before disturbing events threaten to undo the fragile relationship between the two communities. Chara must do their best to keep the peace from falling apart, while struggling with the strange and alien feelings and priorities of humans, who seem intent on ruining everything.
