'Shion picked another report at random, made sure he hadn’t read it before, and began flicking over it when his phone lit up. From this side of the desk, he’s able to glance down at the screen without moving his head. Mum: Don’t forget to pick up- it says and he scoops it up to check that it’s definitely his turn to bring Shionn home that evening. He shoots off an affirmative and then remembers that message from earlier. When he clicks out of the contact, it's from an unknown number. Which is not surprising to him - it feels like everyone here has his mobile number. But there’s no message preview, just ‘[image]’ which, again, doesn’t twig. He’s just preemptively tired at the prospect of more paperwork being sent directly to him through technology. He clicks on the contact and the image loads agonisingly slowly.And he is surprised.'

Something about her voice triggers some distant memory in Nancy’s mind, but she can’t quite place what it is. By the time she gathers her wits about her enough to realize she should help her gather the papers, the other woman has already gotten everything, and is standing up to hand the now-messy stack to Nancy.
Their hands brush as Nancy takes the papers from her, and then she almost drops them all over again, because she’s face to face with—
“Nancy Wheeler?” Robin Buckley blurts out, sounding just as dumbfounded as Nancy feels.

He throws the car in park and removes the key before leaning forward slightly to rest his forehead on the steering wheel. The car shakes as the kids scramble out of it and slam the doors closed behind them. Each resulting WHAM sets off fireworks behind Steve’s closed eyelids.
He just needs a minute. One minute of silence. Then, he’ll go inside to wrangle the kids and clean up before Mrs. Byers gets back.
A hand lands on his shoulder and he jumps into an upright position. The abrupt motion sends pain flooding over the left-side of his head and down through his neck and shoulders. He presses a hand into his left eyebrow, trying to chase the pain away with the pressure.
Dustin still sits in the passenger seat next to him. His hand tightens on his shoulder, eyes blown wide.
“Steve, hey, you okay?”

Eddie frowned and his head swivelled around when he heard the shout. Whoever that was, they didn’t sound happy.
He took a drag of his cigarette, before dropping it to the ground, scrubbing it with his foot, and started to move. Leaving behind the building’s shadow as he made his way further out into the parking lot, shifting between the parked cars of the Hideout as he followed the sound of angry voices.
He paused as he came around the side of a car, his surprise at the scene in front of him making him freeze, Steve Harrington was possibly the last person he expected to see in the Hideout’s parking lot at 11pm.
