Alfred turns to Tim next. “And thank you, Master Timothy.”
Tim quickly straightens his spine from where he was slouching on the counter. “Me? What?” He can’t imagine why Alfred would possibly be thanking him; he hadn’t actually helped.
“Thank you for spending time with us,” Alfred responds.
Tim blushes. “Oh–uh–thank you. I had fun,” he says, and he’s surprised to find that it’s true. For the past hour, he sat here and watched Alfred and Jason cook, and he listened to Jason talk. He didn’t even have to respond to the conversation or lift a finger to help. He just sat here, and for some reason it made Jason and Alfred happy. Tim made Jason and Alfred happy.
And that thought makes Tim happy.

Never go into the forest.
Like many things in their culture, the rule came from the legend of the dragon. The only ones allowed inside the forest were the trained hunters and huntresses, who knew the risk they were taking–if they ever accidentally stole prey from the Blood God’s territory, nothing would be able to save them.
If Tommy had been smart, perhaps he would’ve followed the rule.
But he was hungry and desperate. Besides, the stupid dragon wasn’t even real anyway. Starvation was much more likely to kill him than some made up threat.
So Tommy snuck into the forest for the first time, with no idea that the action would change the course of his life.

Summary
Tim hates this. He doesn’t want to be alone anymore. He wants his parents–no, right now they’re the last people on the planet he would want to face. He wants Jason.
He thinks for a moment, desperately, that if he runs he might be able to catch their car before they’ve left the driveway. If he asks, Jason might be willing to help him more. He doesn't want to do this on his own anymore. Then Tim remembers that it’s not just Jason and Dick driving away; it’s Robin and Nightwing. Robin and Nightwing who help people who are hurt or scared or lost or being attacked; not sick, delusional kids who should be able to take care of themselves. Tim is disgusted with himself for even entertaining the thought.
He’s a big kid. He’s practically a teenager. He’s a Drake, and he will fix this himself.
Tim bakes cookies for the Waynes to show his appreciation for them. Unfortunately for Tim, he seems to have accidentally poisoned the cookies, and is incredibly ill. He's afraid to face his mistake, but even more afraid that he's hurt Jason.
Jason, meanwhile, just doesn't understand why his best friend keeps refusing his help.Series

Summary
Tim doesn't like his medication. He feels really weird lately, and he's certain it's because of the blue pills. Yet every time he thinks too hard about it, his thoughts trail off until he can't remember what they were.
"The pills are good for you, Timothy." His parents tell him. "Don't you remember how much you struggled before? How disobedient you were? Look at you now, you never argue or ask those obnoxious questions anymore."
The worst part is, they're right. Tim doesn't argue or ask questions anymore. Mostly because half of the time when he goes to speak, his words have abandoned him before he even opens his mouth.
(Tim's brain is super messed-up. Good thing his parents have medicine to help him.)
(The Drakes don't appreciate that their son is extra intelligent in all the wrong ways, so naturally they start drugging him from age six and on.)

“Get used to it,” he’d say, as cold as the blade that had done this to him. “This is all you are now.”

Summary
His fingers dug into the alien’s uniform, and he hoped he wasn’t hurting it. It had been so sweet so far, even if he knew it would probably be taking him to some experiment table where he’d be studied and picked apart again.
This was a mistake, he knew it. But he was far too broken to keep trying. He was too hungry, dizzy, scared out of his mind, and lonely to even try to fight back anymore.
So he simply cried, and listened to the alien’s cooes and trills. His eyes began to roll to the back of his head, and he could hear the urgent cry from the alien holding him, but he was far too exhausted.
He was broken. It was over.
And this would be the best mistake he ever made.
Or, Tommy is Wilbur’s soulmate according the the alien’s culture. Tommy fears there may have been a misunderstanding.

They give the humans whatever they desired, the humans completed various tasks for them, and then they went their separate ways.
And if the humans failed to complete their half? Well, it was right there in the contract!
They would be their next meal!
Why act so shocked and scared when they came to collect? They knew the risks. They knew the consequences of failure and yet shook their hands anyway.
Really, it was quite frustrating. No matter, they had a meal waiting for them now. Begging would do nothing to appease their appetite.
“Mommy? Daddy?”
The room froze, everything going silent.
Or, Phil and Techno find a child and remember their lonely friend, Wilbur. The boy doesn't have proper parents, anyway. Why not kill two birds with one stone?
Or or, Tommy gets (consensually) adopted by a cryptid in a backrooms(ish) au!

Yes. Wilbur had to bite his tongue to keep the answer from spilling out of his mouth, because yes he wanted more. Of course he wanted more. He wanted to be more than the bastard prince. He wanted to be more than a mistake his mother made before she married Tommy’s father.
But that wasn’t the role he had been cast for in his life.
“It doesn’t matter,” Wilbur said instead. “When Tommy turns eighteen he’ll be crowned King, and I will be his advisor. He’ll be a good king, I’ll make sure of it.”
or, as the bastard prince of the planet of Eldingvegr, Wilbur has always known he was never meant for greatness. That was his younger brother's destiny. Wilbur's job was simply to try and make sure Tommy could fulfill that destiny.
That becomes decidedly more difficult when the brothers are betrayed, and are forced to flee their home planet. With the Essempi Empire being one of the largest imperial powers in the universe, the only place that can offer them refuge from Emperor Dream is Zephys IV—capital planet of the Antarctic Empire, ruled by the ruthless Emperor Philza.
