    Maybe he doesn’t have a filter because of how tired he is, his mind too chemically addled to properly stop and think. Maybe he wants to keep an eye on Clark, make sure Superman heals and recovers fully, rather than have him shower here at the Hall and send him on his way. Maybe—

    Maybe he doesn’t want to be apart from him, and maybe he wants to take care of him, and maybe he wants to be taken care of by him, and maybe he’s just drained enough and just foolish enough and just good enough at making up excuses that this was going to be inevitable anyway.

    Whatever reason it is— whatever combination of reasons, most likely— the outcome is the same.

    Bruce skidded to a halt, breath hissing through his teeth.

    Superman’s head came up sharply, like the sound of Bruce’s shock still meant something to him—and it was Clark, but he was different. Different lines on his face, a subtly different curl to his hair, and as he looked Bruce up and down his eyes blew wide.

    Bruce’s hand dropped immediately to his belt, a chill sweeping through him. “Not our Kal.”

    Bruce and Clark have been in a relationship since the founding of the Justice League almost twenty years ago. When the League tries to bring in a thief with stolen reality-shifting technology, Clark is accidentally exchanged with his counterpart from a universe that's almost identical—except he's married to Lois. And they have a son.

    As each side scrambles to swap their Clarks back, Bruce and Clark find themselves grappling with new questions about their life together, faced with the possibility of things having gone differently for not just the two of them, but their children—the ones they have, and the one they've never met. Along the way, they do their best not to to blow up their counterparts' lives by dredging up any long-buried feelings. (They may or may not succeed at that last.)

    Demacia hadn’t been part of the plan. Then again, Jinx hadn’t planned anything beyond the explosion. That was supposed to be the end, one final bang for everyone to remember her by. Instead, she ended up on an airship headed to a distant land she’d never heard of before—not that Jinx minded. She was ready for a fresh start, for the end of her past life and the beginning of something new. If she was lucky, nobody would give her a second glance.

    Yet, while Piltover saw Jinx as a criminal, Demacia saw something worse—a blight to be purged before she could infect their land.
