Summary
Ruby Rose has always loved Dungeons and Dragons, and with Summer Vacation approaching, she wants to play a real campaign! But with her Dad not able to run for her and seemingly no one interested, Ruby is alone...until her Dad suggests a family friend. Ruby drags her friends along to try a game of d&d in the same world her parents first met in, unknowingly taking them to an adventure unlike any other!
This other world is real, and now she and her friends are going to have to navigate it while being the hero...and Ruby loves it!

Featuring a new deck, a slightly altered canon as time goes on, and something I feel Yu-Gi-Oh fics are sorely lacking: a story with ACTUAL DUELS in it! Including a few fanmade cards ;)
tw: This fic uses dub names. Also, for the sake of this fic, Yubel was a child when she was turned into a Duel Spirit and became sentient when she reunited with Jaden. They have essentially grown up together from that point, to mitigate any worries about an age gap as much as possible.

Rumi doesn’t fit anywhere anymore…so now, it’s time to go solo.

I'm John Doe and this is my journal, I guess.
Why am I writing a journal exactly, well it's because my dad said it was a good idea.
You see, when my dad first met my mom he had a hard time adjusting to being in a relationship with someone of her, "caliber", ...is that the right word for this context, f*ck it I'm not changing it.
Anyway, dad said that writing out his thoughts always helped him when he had trouble in his relationship.
Now, you're probably wondering why is any of that relevant to this journal, well, it's because I've been dating this girl for a while now.
I know, I know, the evil shadow king of Wellston has a girlfriend, I can't believe it either.
Her name is Evie and I'd like to think that she and I have a good relationship, but I've never really dated anyone before, so my perspective on that may be a bit naive.
Hence, why I decided that I should ask my dad for some advice, and he recommended writing a journal so i figured, what the hell, I'll give it a shot.

Judai "Yuuna" Yuki knew from a young age she was a girl, no matter what her parents said against that. Yubel taught her how to play Duel Monsters and about their previous life as her Guardian and protector. She's finally on Duel Academy Island, where her parents can't reach her and she's free to be herself. But secrets can only stay secret for so long.
Soon enough though, Yuuna has more than just her own secrets to worry about. Such as but not limited to: Alexis Rhodes hating her guts, Blair Flannigan's secrets and similar issues, the disappearance of Atticus Rhodes, Zane Truesdale also hating her guts, Syrus Truesdale's confidence problems, the fact Jasmine Makurada and Mindy Hamaguchi just can't spit it out, Chazz Princeton being Chazz Princeton, Bastion Misawa being too nosy for his own good, the random shadow games she keeps getting involved in, the island's horrible security that causes too many problems and the world destroying God-like cards under the island.
I'm sure it'll be fine.
