    Sonic, like anyone else, is simply trying to survive against the evil rule of Emperor Eggman. One fateful day, he is saved by an echidna, a legendary creature, coming from a race of echidnas often refereed to as gods. He was sent down from Angel Island by Gaia to find the Chaos Emeralds and bring them back to their home on Angel Island where they belong.

    Sonic eventually gets roped into helping him.
    As it turns out, the Chaos Emeralds used to bring security to the islands of Mobius, but once they mysteriously scattered, the islands were constantly under threat from sea monsters, mystical creatures and others who were enamored by and search for the Chaos Emeralds’ magic.

    Sonic Tails and Knuckles aim to save the islands from these threats, collecting Chaos Emeralds along the way while trying to avoid the fallen prince, Shadow. A hedgehog sent by Emperor Eggman to swoop in and collect the Chaos Emeralds at the last moment to bring them all to him, making him the richest man in Mobius.
