Bob smiled at that comment. Yelena would most likely have found a creative way to get rid of him anyway, if he ever told John, but she had confessed it more than once.
"It's like Nat left me a replacement before she left. Grumpy and a bit of an asshole, but he's still my brother."
On the other hand, he knew how hard it was for John to express his feelings in words. If he just thought about those six months wasted dancing around each other, they would have celebrated their first anniversary long ago.
It was especially difficult to do so with people who weren't Bob.
But he knew him by now, all too well. He saw it every time Lena complained to him about him sacrificing himself again in her place on a mission.
Or even in the little smile he had at that moment, as he turned back to the stove, blushing.
They were his two favorite people in the world, and God only knows how much he loved them.
