Summary
He ducked behind a tree trunk once he’d put some distance between himself and the group, pressing his back against the bark as he took deep steady breaths. He waited for the shouting to start, for his name to echo through the trees. But when that didn’t happen, he reached up for the first tree branch above his head.
He used to think that he was born to climb. Back when he was a kid and didn’t know much beyond the fence of Hell’s Gate, he spent every day climbing the trees at the edge of the boundary. He climbed until it became second nature, and he’d reach for footholds on instinct. Now, he shimmied up the young tree with ease, the wet moss a bit tricky to navigate but he managed it.
He crossed between treetops once he was high enough, watching as the recoms finally pulled their friend free. A murmur shot up between them, and their heads turned quickly.
They were looking for him.

Summary
Bonding with the Toruk had…side effects, Norm had told him once Spider came to ask, especially for Jake, who was in an Avatar body and lacked the experience in tsaheylu other Na’vi had. His mind was- well, not exactly weaker, but it was different. More open to influences once a bond was made. Influences that changed Jake, made him act different sometimes.
OR
After connecting to Toruk in the first movie, Jake ended up with some of his characteristics. Mainly manifesting in bursts of "moods" in which Jake reverts to more primal, animalistic instincts causing him to mostly want to stay home and cuddle his family.
Spider learns the hard way that he, too, is a Sully.

Everything was hunky-dory except for the persistent headaches he had never had before. He was growing as a tracker, as a hunter, but so were the headaches.
It's when Zoe Harlow calls none other than Commander Callum Drift that matters take a sharp turn into the really weird, unbelievable and freaky for Jack. And that's saying something after he had just found out that Santa Claus is real...

Summary
A few months after Avatar: The Way of Water. Spider suffers in silence with nightmares and the guilt of everything that happened. He knows that Quaritch is out there... because of HIM. Back in the forest, he only felt like he belonged with Norm and Max or outside, with nothing but nature to keep him company. But with the Omatikaya Clan, he was alone and knew that despite having friends, he could never belong in their world.
Today, with the Metkayina Clan, things could be better. He still doesn't have a place, unless it's with his friends. And so far he’s just been expressing his gratitude with words and by doing any work he can.
But soon, the nightmares and guilt become too strong for him, so he turns to an idea to cope. The problem is that the idea happens to be the dumbest one in all of Pandora. At first, he takes it slow, but soon it goes too far.
But no one else notices or cares, at least until trouble comes knocking on the door.

Summary
Spider had always been different from the other humans.
Ever since Mo'at had first met the boy, who stood between Kiri and Lo'ak, clutching both of their hands in his much smaller ones with a shy smile on his face behind the clear glass of his mask, she had known this to be true.
The scientists, even those with Dreamwalkers, forever had a lingering clumsiness when navigating Eywa'eveng. They lacked the balance and stamina needed to run along the large, winding branches that served as the forests' pathways, and they hadn't the strength required to climb the trees and vines that acted as ladders for the Na'vi.
There was something about their spirits that felt...lacking. It did not make them any less of a people, nor did it mean they were not treasured friends and allies, but they always simply felt so...separate. Wooden beads amongst stone.
Except for Spider.
Or Spider was never kidnapped, but neither did he leave the clan alongside the Sully family. There's only one person who feels their absence as keenly as he does. This changes many things.
