Gabi made her hands stay away from her hair and looked at him squarely. “Why do you think I didn’t try that? That I haven’t given birth and chosen to provide for that child by living apart? That I wouldn’t love my baby enough to hide her even from myself, if it meant you never laid eyes on her either?”

    Sir’s face flickered to a sharp, unpleasant cringe that flashed his teeth, like a tiger might try to cover rage with a human smile. “I don’t understand. When did you have a baby?”

     

    Trigger Warning: Canon typical kidnapping, angst, emotional blackmail, with implied rape and child abandonment. I don’t think this is supported by canon, vague as Gabi’s kidnapping has been painted. However, it’s Christmas Eve and Hugh Evans deserves to spend it wondering something horribly daunting. Gabi deserves to see him upset and off kilter. I think it would make her egg nog taste better.
