Summary
After yet another training mission, 10 year-old Satoru slips away from his handlers to explore the small village nearby. He comes across Suguru, who has lived in isolation as the sole sorcerer in his community, and who lacks knowledge about his cursed technique. Satoru briefly teaches Suguru about jujutsu, before he is found by his handler and forced to leave Suguru behind.
Five years later, Satoru and Suguru are reunited at Jujutsu High. Neither has forgotten their first meeting, though they both struggle to openly convey how their first interaction changed everything for both of them.
Satoru fell in love with Suguru at first sight, though he had not fully registered or understood this until after reuniting in high school.
Suguru fell in love with Satoru as soon as Satoru blushed when Suguru conveyed his gratitude. He understood his feelings immediately, and upon seeing Satoru again, after so many years, it only confirmed what he has known all along: there was something softer and more fragile beneath the bravado and arrogance that Satoru projected out to the world.
