Summary
Makeela is 12 years old when her mother dies, making her chief of the Gerudo people. She doesn’t want the job. She’d rather be drawing, or reading her great-grandmother’s journals, or exploring the dunes of the desert with Patricia, her sand seal.
She’s doing her best, really, but no one prepared her for a resurgent Yiga Clan, earthquakes, towers of unknown origin shooting from the ground, a reawakened technological monster that stalks her desert, and a 117-year-old amnesiac voe who seems just as intent on beating all sand surfing records as he is on beating back Calamity Ganon.
Growing up is hard.

Ren laughs and looks at her like the cat who’s caught the canary. Except he’s the cat, she’s the canary, and the look in his eyes really is unfair. “I bet you’re almost shaking with that question.”
Ichiko huffs, the corner of her mouth twitching up. “You’re right, so I’ll bite. “Define ‘here’.”
“Um. In my current position? In Crossroads? In the back lounge?” Ren takes a step forward with each suggestion, his smirk growing more playful and demanding with each one. Finally, he’s close enough for her to feel his breath on her forehead. How did she forget that he was that tall? Ichiko shudders when his hands find her waist. He squeezes playfully, almost possessively. “Right in front of you, Ichiko?” He bends down, so close that she can feel the heat of his breath on her lips now. She’s so fucked, and they both know it. “This close to you?” His whispered words graze over her lips, she licks them wet.

“Oh, just sod it,” Harry hissed.
Dean chuckled next to him. “Mate, it’s…about as good as it’s gonna get. Which, you know, isn’t really that bad! I mean, as far as messy hair goes, you could do worse.”
Harry looked at him like he just tried to convince him that McGonagall was actually a drummer in a muggle rock band. He sighed heavily. “I have no idea what I’m doing, Dean.”
The fellow Gryffindor eyed him carefully, before he sighed quietly. “This…this isn’t really about your hair, is it?”
Harry studied the sink, finding the drain suddenly very interesting. He shook his head, muttering a quiet “no”.
Dean straightened his robes for what must have been the fourteenth time since he’d finished putting them on. “It’s the dance itself, yeah?”
“Sorta.”
“Is it Parvati? Are you nervous about dancing with her? Because, honestly, she’s great. Don’t let her gossiping and shite fool ya. She just likes information and thinks people are interesting, you know?”
Harry shrugged.

With the world hollowing out around them, Alphen and his allies are given the chance to go back and redo their recent adventure, with the added focus of keeping their victory, rather than letting someone else either destroy or remake Dahna and Rena. With their knowledge of the future, will it make their journey easier, or harder?
