It might be because he was another rich and genteel French vampire who swooped in ostensibly to make their lives easier. It might be because Louis was demonstrably infatuated with him so quickly. But it was probably because Armand only nodded sagely when she proudly declared Lestat dead. And then he revealed that he considered Lestat a close friend and would mourn his loss.
