"What happened to you?” Astrid asked, her voice was cold.
Hiccup's brows knit in confusion.
She knew what happened to him, she was literally there. There for it and for everything after. Until he left.
When he just blinked a few times, perplexed, instead of responding, she went on.
“You used to be smart! You used to be funny! You used to be worth talking to!” As her voice raised with each word, there was a hollow ache in his chest. It felt like something heavy was pushing down on it, forcing all the air out of his lungs.
The worst part, he thought, was the fact she was right.
Nothing he did made sense anymore.
At some point in his brief stint away from Berk something in him, something that had been steadily growing over the years, seemed to finally reach a breaking point and irreversibly shifted.
He was meant to be some kind of genius, right? That was the whole point of–

Amazing blend of csm and mha's worlds and stories. Adore the use of mha's worldbuilding and how they're made it compliment the csm characters absolutely amazing story
Chapter 30, just before the final rounds of the sports festivalI love Denji's development with being in school and relatively secure enough he's for the first time ever experiencing self consciousness. Big fan of the mha characters getting exposed to like a taste of the gorefest that is fights in csm and being traumatized Denji really did a number on the usj nomu before Makima finished it off (and holy shit that's horrifying for a quirk huh) Denji being somewhat ostracized from his classmates for his violence is kind of devastating but not surprising, love how he bonded with Midoriya in being formerly quirkless and desperate.
