[Y/N] loved fixing things. It gave her a sense of purpose like nothing else did. Her favorite thing to fix was toys, and she thought what she found that night was close enough to one. It wasn't. The broken animatronic she found among trash was a glorified coffin caging in a dead man, kept on this Earth only by the grief, guilt and anger.
"It wasn't its fault it was in disrepair." She thought to herself as she drove the husk home. She didn't know how wrong she was.
He didn't want her to know. He wanted her to keep trusting him to be harmless even though he was not, keep mending his wounds with careful hands as if he were still alive, as if he still deserved it. Even in the sea of fire that had nearly destroyed him, his existence never stopped being cold. His fractured mind completely forgot what comfort and care felt like.
Under the gentle light of her workroom, he felt warm, for the first time in so long.
