Dennis had always been a crybaby. He was upset at the term at first, but it made sense when Momma and David called him that. He had always been David’s duckling, following him around the farm like David had made him himself, the surprise baby of the family.
But he was twenty-six, would be a full doctor soon, and he was still a crybaby. It was okay. It was also embarrassing, and his coworkers didn’t make fun of him for having a stupid pain response, but he was a crybaby. Okay, Trinity made fun of it, but she was basically his sister. She was supposed to make fun of it. Because that’s what siblings who didn’t think they were your daddy did. He made fun of her for pretending she hated them all, but then snuggled him on movie nights, and she made fun of him for crying when he got hurt.
Thing is though, as Dennis grew up, he learned that some people particularly… liked… when he was easy to make cry. He’s come to adore that just a little. He’s more of a slut than Trinity, and he liked when they could make him cry without too much pain, make fun of him for it… there was a lot he liked about being a crybaby, because it’s not really a bad thing.

“That pretty much sums it up, yeah,” Dennis nodded as he turned away from the desk and headed towards south three and the patient in there waiting on some burn care.
“Right,” Trinity nodded, following him. “So you’re going to be sharing your location with me and texting me regular wellness checks.”
