There's been a storm brewing inside Sakura ever since Sasuke left to seek out Orochimaru, and the growing realization that she might not be half the shinobi her teammates are. Kazuya is not easily surprised.
He could usually predict what would happen in both his life and on the field. He had always been a very calculating person like that.
But it was simply impossible to predict the unpredictable.
So when Kazuya had first seen Sawamura's face at practice that morning of meeting the Swallows' new recruits, he had been surprised.
