Summary
After the end of a successful diplomatic mission, most would expect a flattering speech or a gift basket in exchange for a job well done. One did not usually expect to receive a baby, but unfortunately for Spock, this is exactly what he receives after welcoming a new planet into the Federation.
Now in possession of a half-vulcan, half-human clone, Spock must make a decision. He can either leave Starfleet and raise the child as his own, or he can relinquish custody and find a more suitable guardian.
One thing is for certain, however—Sarek cannot find out about the baby. -

Jim goes with Spock to the disintegrating planet. The perilous rescue attempt unexpectedly bonds them.
The Enterprise transporters rescue a few thousand Vulcans and alert the system to evacuate. When the planet is destroyed, the Vulcans' collective culture is threatened, and an essential web of connections necessary for maintaining logic is broken. This is a story about survival and family.I don't own Star Trek in any of its iterations, but I love the cannon with a passion. I'm sure I've borrowed some head cannon from some of my favorite stories, if I have, consider it a compliment from a huge fan. I use the lingojam.com translator for English - Vulcan. An academy AU + Tarsus aftermath fic in which James T. Kirk ends up accidentally parentally bonded to an orphaned Vulcan child. When the father/daughter duo enroll in Star Fleet, hijinks ensue (mostly at the expense of Spock’s previously immaculate but quickly deteriorating self-control).

John is quiet for an unbearably long while (too quiet: no humming, no breath) before he lets his forehead drop to rest against Sherlock's, smudge of ash and grit and sweat mixed with something far too heavy to be tears.
John presses one hand over Sherlock's heart, and there's warmth again. It stings.
"What's it like, love?" he asks, finally, his voice thick with the promise of rest.

Pike’s light flashed once for yes. Before Kirk could pour for him, the chair moved sideways, gently bumping into Spock’s side. Spock’s fingers once more sought out his friend’s psi points.
“He says it’s the color of your uniform, now.” Spock stared into Pike’s good eye, then sighed wearily, “ Son. They dolled me up in that god awful red monstrosity with a built in bib.” The corner of Spock’s mouth ticked up in a faint smile. “Don’t let them promote you until the next uniform change.”
Jim laughed as he filled both glasses attached to Pike’s beer hat with golden German lager. Pike took the long drink of a man who hadn’t been allowed any vices in all too long. He sighed contentedly, shoulders visibly relaxing in his chair.
