“Good morning. Well, I-I guess It’s a little too early for me to come here, but I-” Macaque started, however his voice was cut by the display of something once Peach fully opened up the door for him.
Something, that is his own dead body that is still fully intact minus the massive bloody hole on his ribcage.
Ah, so Peach has only eaten his heart for the night.
Macaque found Peach’s golden eyes glistening, very much in panic but Macaque himself had his own question that he couldn’t help but voiced out.
“Was I not tasty enough-?”
“I can explain-!”
They voiced their respective questions almost at the same time.

Summary
“So… Stupid, huh? Ahaha…” Wukong forced a laugh, a choked up sound bubbled out of his throat as tears slowly spilled out of his eyes. He brought a hand up to his face and turned away, “... Sorry.”
An exasperated mumble, “... You're so annoying.” After a few moments of tense silence, Macaque tried again. “You're annoying when you… Shove all of your problems away like that.”
Wukong's angry smile faded and he blinked, his mouth opening and closing a few times. Macaque kept talking. “... Quit trying to act like it's below you to cry for once. You look stupid.”

Wukong isn't one to confront his problems, let alone come to terms with them. So, what does he do? Ignore it, as per usual.
Oh yeah, also, a bird keeps following him.

What do you want? Macaque thinks.
Listen closely, his body seems to whisper, and all at once, Macaque becomes aware of another strange sensation stirring to life inside him, humming its arrival with a shiver. It’s not entirely unpleasant, but it aches somehow, aches in a restless sort of way, almost like loneliness, but if it were more...physical. Macaque instinctively raises his arms to wrap them around himself, squeezing his biceps gently, and somehow the feeling gets stronger as his body cries out for...something.
He thinks...he wants somebody to touch him.
Macaque’s body betrays him.

Really solid exploration of what the family of the great Monkey King would be like, blood guts and all. The use of adult Rumble and Savage all throughout the story is fascinating to say the least, honestly as a fandom we don't use adult Rumble and Savage nearly as much as we should-- Think of the story possibilities, people!
I love how characters aren't allowed to put their mistakes in the shadows, how everything is put in the lime light for others to see and interpret.
All in all, this story is one that I think more people should read. It's one of my favorites and has really opened my eyes to a lot of story potentials. I'm sad to see it be on hiatus, but hey, we all have lives to live! In the meantime, I'll be happily rereading this fic

Summary
Macaque comes back to life over a thousand years after his death and immediately decides he wants nothing to do with Sun Wukong ever again. Unfortunately, not seeking revenge on the Great Sage makes his second life only minutely less stressful. He's incredibly weak from his impromptu resurrection, the Lady Bone Demon wants to collect his debt to her, and on top of that, Sun Wukong seems intent on hunting him down.
With practically no magic left, unwilling to go back to the Diyu, and refusing to help in destoying the world, Macaque flees. Maybe if he continues to be slippery enough, Wukong, his new stupidly optimistic successor and his friends, and the Lady Bone Demon will leave him alone.
In hindsight, it's laughable to think he could escape them.
