Summary
"That's such a… You song." He felt himself say in a hushed tone, before he managed to tear his gaze away from Dick.
"Is it?" He asked Jason back, who found his own nerves melt away. The teenager nodded slowly. Dick continued to hum, the lyrics slipping from his lips, softly, almost like a prayer swirling in the wind.
"Call out in the middle of the night, for when else would I hear you? Fall out in the cold starlight, I can save you if you do,"
Jason felt himself sway at the melody. If he ignored everything else around him, he could pretend that Dick was singing that song to him. He only ever had his mother singing for him when he was still a small child, and she had to take care of him and not the other way around.
It was a nice thought, wasn't it? To have your crush singing to you one of the songs from the band you recommended. Too bad that his love was unrequired, but that was alright to Jason. He had already been taken in by a billionaire and made Robin, his luck could only do so much, he knew.
