Summary
There’s a hand, fingers cold, on his elbow – someone trying to get his attention. Usually, usually, his staff would know that just calling his name is enough, that he’s fine-tuned to the sound of it like a dog waiting for a command. But as he looks down and then to the person the chilled digits belong to, he finds Whitaker staring up at him owlishly. A shudder goes through him, senses zeroing in on the point of contact.
“Can I help you?” It comes out bitchier than he intended, caught off-guard as he is. But he doesn’t take it back, not even when the kid bites at his lower lip as if he wants to apologize.
“I just wanted to ask if you liked the chicken parm.”

Summary
1996. Michael Robinavitch is a first year grad student, struggling to balance a library job with his duties as a teaching assistant while trying to get his masters in Biology and deciding whether med school is right for him. Jack Abbot is a third-year undergrad Biology student and football phenom who can't seem to take anything, even school, seriously. After an anonymous one night stand at the start of the semester, Robby and Jack recognize one another in a lecture and are immediately rubbed the wrong way: Robby by Jack's rich boy privilege and inability to commit to class, Jack by Robby's holier-than-thou attitude. When an academic integrity issue forces them into close quarters, however, the push and pull of their sexual chemistry might be enough to overcome their inherent dislike.
