After several midnight phone calls with Leorio, Gon could say for sure that Killua loved him as well. It wasn’t hard to believe, and everybody could see it.
Gon just wanted to know why, wanted to know so badly, why Killua would not express these feelings, despite them being unequivocally reciprocated.
i.e. Killua figures his feelings out while Gon waits for him.
