Summary
"Apply for the program, they said." Alex pulled himself up once more, reaching his chin over the aluminum bar, "It'll be good for your resume, they said," he pulled himself up one last time before dropping back to the gym floor. He grabbed his towel from the dumbbell rack and pressed it to his face. The stench of the sea below their facility was all-encompassing, even here. The helicopter ride to the former ADNOC oil rig had been a valkyrie ride in and of itself and Alex hated just how much the sea was affecting him, despite the numerous diving lessons back home in Manhattan. And he wasn't even there, yet. He was still 90 meters above the surface with several thousand tons of steel between the cold water and himself.

"You here with a child of your own?" Ethan asked casually.
The man scoffed and pushed the sunglasses up on his nose. "God forbid, no. I can't stand children," he said in a light tone, "No offense, but they're kind of disgusting."
"Oh, no no, I get it," Ethan replied, "They totally are. And loud and messy. And dirty. And always between your feet," he counted out. The man looked over with an amused smile.
"But I love my kids. They're the light of my life," Ethan concluded, "Quite literally. They know how to turn on lights, but switching them off seems an unfathomable task."

Summary
When the premises had been: "retrieve the package as quietly as possible" Arno had hoped for a calm mission with little interference or trouble if he held himself inconspicuous. Maybe an unarmed takedown or two around a couple of corners to ease the way. Maybe some distractions by throwing things around to lure the guard in various directions.
What he had not expected was finding himself face first with a city he barely remembered almost 100 years after he had last seen it and entangled with the curious person that Jacob Frye was.

My interpretation of "Going forward isn't necessarily an ending."

Summary
As a lonely teenager, Verso paints himself a friend on a small, hidden canvas: Gustave, a confidant who quietly grows into something more. After the fracture, the other Verso finds Gustave again in Lumière. It should be impossible - and keeping his distance might be.

Summary
Verso fully intended for Gustave to die at Renoir’s hand. He'd been hoping and planning for this while stalking them across the Continent, crafting ideas on how to insert himself into the empty space left behind, using the man's death as kindling to instill a burning drive in Alicia to force their mother out of the Canvas at long last. This had been his single-minded goal from the beginning of Expedition 33's doomed journey. Everything hinged upon on this one moment, this small sacrifice in a long line of expedition martyrs.
But somehow, despite all of his meticulous planning, he didn't take into account the possibility that the man could be his Alpha.
