Things he couldn't quite see, skittering along the sides of the road. He might have pulled over to investigate, had it not been obvious that Sam wasn't seeing a thing.
When a witch curses Dean to remember Hell, really remember it, his distinction between reality and memory blurs, and it's up to Sam and Castiel to break the spell and somehow keep Dean from succumbing to hallucinations of his time there.

It was just past seven AM and normally the sun would be already baking the blacktop of LA’s seedy alleyways, but the clouds from last night still hovered thickly in the sky above. The air was damp and humid, but oddly enough the chill, that was uncommon for August, clung on.
“Yes, the killer really should’ve kept that in mind when he murdered someone, Lucifer.” She snapped. It felt good to be back in roles that she knew, felt comfortable with. Banter. Sarcasm. Work. No celestial craziness in sight.
