Summary
Martin had made a lot of choices in his life, frequently under duress, he liked duress, it meant whatever decision you were making wasn't entirely your fault. Martin couldn't decide if being trapped in a time loop and isolated from everyone he loves via supernatural interference, body snatching, and… well he didn't really have any excuse to ignore Tim right now beyond the original time loop problem and a distaste towards Spy vs Spy, counted as duress.

In the tangled mess that is my feelings towards Peeta, a mess that has so conveniently knotted itself around my feelings for Gale, I have erected a scoreboard. On this board I reward a point every time one of the aforementioned men does something I perceive as something I would desire in a partner. This board does nothing because in the end even if Gale won my imaginary competition, I would be forced to stay with Peeta, and even if Peeta is the perfect theoretical partner that doesn't translate into my romantic feelings, said feelings currently being lost somewhere in the impenetrable knot that is my emotions. But the scoring makes me happy.

Despite her secret goals for Thayet something stopped her from ever mentioning that Jonathan would love her, she thought it so often, seeing her consider all her ideas carefully with a rulers grace and specificity, seeing how she looked when she, Buri, and Alanna bathed along their ride, soft black ringlets falling down her back and beautiful porcelain skin unmarred by violence but muscles that showed her ability to hold herself in a fight. She was a perfect princess and would be a perfect queen, and Jonathan would love her at first sight succinctly solving Alanna’s issue of his insistence to marry her, and giving Thayet a home and political power that she could wield to make Tortall a better place.
And yet. The picture of the beautiful queenly Thayet next to Jonathan, handsome with sapphire eyes and a smile that melted women's hearts on sight. It made Alanna feel ill.

Before the shore of their haven from the world, floated three giant warships, silhouetted against the yellow sky.

Summary
Martin wasn't alone when he went back to investigate Vittery's basement that night, and he wasn't alone when he fled back to his apartment either. Stuck caring for a boss that hates him, all he can do is pray his coworkers notice their absence.
Trapped in an apartment with his least favourite assistant and limited supplies, Jon is forced to confront his fear of the supernatural head-on while battling his cravings and bizarrely realistic nightmares. Also, there may or may not be a worm trying to burrow into his leg.
This is going to be one hell of a week.
