    Summary

Shane picks up on the third ring.

    “What?”

Ilya closes his eyes, humiliation twisting his gut. Still, though, it’s nice to hear his voice. His shoulders sag a little. “Hollander?”

“I don’t–” Shane sighs, long and heavy. “Why are you calling?”

Why is he calling? Ilya couldn’t answer. Not in any way that makes sense, anyway.

Voice wobbling, Ilya says, “I am sorry.” He inhales, breath hitching horribly. “Was mistake.”

On the other line, Shane goes quiet. Then, shuffling around, he says, “What’s going on, Rozanov?”

Or: Ilya calls Shane in the middle of the night, and against his better judgment, Shane comes to find him.

    Summary

After their engagement, Ilya and Shane return to Russia under the cover of the Irina Foundation, knowing it may be the last time Ilya ever sets foot there. What waits for him is not closure, but grief, memory, and a past he learned to survive by becoming quiet and hard.

It isn’t about going back to the life he escaped.
It’s about one final goodbye—to the place that shaped him, and to the mother he never stopped missing.

With Shane beside him—steady, patient, and fiercely careful—Ilya faces grief he’s spent years surviving, old fear that still lives in his bones, and the quiet truth he’s been avoiding:
some doors don’t close cleanly… but you can still choose how to leave them.

This is a story about grief, survival, and choosing a future where home is no longer a place, but a person.

    Summary

One security camera. One leaked video. One choice that changes everything.

Ilya Rozanov loses his country, his team, and his shot at Olympic gold in a single night. But he doesn’t lose Shane, and that makes all the difference.

A story about finding home in a person, not a place. About choosing love over legacy. And about winning the medal you never knew you needed, standing next to the one person who matters most.

    Summary

Shane is a reporter for The New Yorker. Ilya works as a political consultant at the Russian Consulate. They’ve known each other since being rivals on the hockey team in college. It took a while for them to become friends, but since they have, the pair have gotten close. Very close. As their bachelor years dwindle, they decide to try to set one another up with their best girlfriends. It doesn’t go as they’d hoped.

Or, Hudson inspired me to write a When Harry Met Sally AU.

    Happy New Year.

    Summary

Four times Ilya Rozanov reminded everyone exactly who the fuck they were dealing with (spoiler: still an asshole, still elite, still not going anywhere), and one time he didn’t have to be anything except soft.

Or being out didn’t make him nicer. Being married didn’t make him softer. Being older didn’t make him weaker. And being a father? Well. That’t when things get complicated.

(He’s really good at that last part. Don’t tell anyone.)
