“Still, Lord Phainon, a marriage proposal?” Castorice asked, her voice tinged with quiet incredulity.
“What were you thinking?!” Hyacine exclaimed, turning towards Phainon in disbelief.
Phainon let out a sheepish laugh, scratching the back of his head. “Ma-maybe he just…misunderstood? I mean, who accepts a proposal from someone they've just met?” He bit his lip, cheeks heating, clearly mortified.
“Right…” Cipher rolled her eyes. “The real question is who proposes to someone they’ve just met?” She paused, blinked, then pointed out, “Actually, sounds like you’re meant for each other if we put it that way.”
Aglaea raised a brow, while Tribbie covered her mouth to hide a smile.
TLDR: Phainon says the wrong thing. Mydeimos says yes.

Summary
Phainon swallows around nothing, unable to look away. “Who's that?” he asks no one in particular, his voice a little breathless even in his own ears.
“Mydeimos Kremnos. You know those Kremnoses," the fourth-year standing next to him whispers back. "He's practically Wizarding World royalty. I heard he got an offer to play Quidditch professionally, but turned it down."
Phainon does not, in fact, know who those Kremnoses are supposed to be, but he doesn’t particularly care, still staring at the boy.

By his seventh year in Hogwarts, Phainon likes to think he’s gotten pretty good at this wizarding thing. On top of being both the Gryffindor Quidditch Captain and a Prefect, he has plenty of friends and decent grades—everything he needs for a memorable but not too difficult graduation year. But when the Triwizard tournament is announced to return, and Hogwarts welcomes international guests, Phainon finds himself inexplicably drawn to Durmstrang’s would-be champion Mydeimos. When the Goblet of Fire spits out both their names, it’s sure to be an exciting year.

Phainon exhaled as he leaned against the wall of the bakery, and around him the streets were empty and cold, but the bakery still pulsed with warmth and life, casting light down the empty streets.
His fingers dug into the grooves of his apartment key deep inside his pocket, and from inside he could hear Mydei's faint laughter, which only made him smile softly in the darkness.
