"Why did he reach out to you instead of me?”
Shoko feels Gojo’s question on her skin first, the heat of his words. Something softer than anger but still filled with hurt. She starts to inch away but Gojo catches her by the shoulder, keeping her in place, their bodies lying parallel on her bed with scarce space between them. Sweat sticks his palm to her skin. She can feel his heartbeat in her bones, rapid and alcohol-addled.
“I don’t know,” she says. Gojo’s grip on her shoulder tightens for one moment then loosens, his hand falling to the mattress. She hears him turning away from her, a door slamming shut.
“I think you do,” is all he says before reaching out to turn off the light, plunging both of them into the dark.
Or: After Geto defects, Shoko and Gojo reckon with what he’s done to them and what they are to each other.

Summary
Takahashi is a completely ordinary grade school teacher. Her school is a small private one, where she knows the two story layout by heart and the staff by name, and each of the three classes per grade level has just under twenty students each. Every parent and child to have come into her third grade class is completely ordinary but upper class, and she is more than happy to live a quiet, uninteresting life.
Megumi Fushiguro comes in out of nowhere in the middle of the semester, black spiky hair and a personality far too grown up for his small body. He wrinkles his nose at all the other kids yelling and running around the playground during recess, and she’s quite certain he’s rolled his eyes at her more than once when she turned to attend to a student that tripped after getting too carried away with having fun.
OR:
Megumi's elementary school teacher has to deal with him, his irresponsible guardians Gojo and Shoko, and the feeling that she's missing something when it comes to all three.
(And, a near decade later, she runs into that same student yet again.)
