As for the Gender, I've made Duran a trans woman and Hawkeye a trans man.
-Trials of the Self is from Duran's PoV and focuses on her gender trouble and living up to the legacy of her father
-Trials to Save is from Hawkeye's PoV and focuses on Hawkeye coping with the various tramuas that he gets put through in canon
