Luo Binghe balks, insists he has no doubts, that he was simply letting his own fears run wild, but Shizun’s normally cool expression cracks open, revealing something sad and raw. He sets his jaw and his shoulders droop as he sighs and says, “Binghe, you and I will be taking a very important trip tomorrow”
Binghe perks up at the thought of going somewhere, anywhere alone with Shizun. Maybe that’s just what Shizun needs to help him out of his mood of the last few days. Still, he has to ask, “Shizun, might this disciple enquire what brought this on?”
