Summary
Dean Winchester never thought of himself as special. He never liked his ability to see a demon's true face and left the hunting world and settled in Blue Earth, working as a Deacon. He was happy and content. No demon's had bothered him until one day they did, and the Boy King of Hell, Sam, and the angel Castiel entered his life. According to Castiel, Dean's sight is a gift. According to Sam, Dean deserves to live a life that hasn't been pre-planned for him since before he was born.
Dean struggles to convince Castiel to tell him what he means while trying to keep Sam at arm's length.
Sam works to keep Dean just out of reach of the angels, knowing that Dean will belong with him, and tries not to think of the tiny sliver of humanity still clawing inside of him.

Summary
After getting injured off duty, Kotetsu moves in with Barnaby to recover and heal from his injury. Over the course of three months the two heros' find themselves getting closer and learn more about each other's scars, new and old, physically and mentally. Barnaby does his best to help his partner as best he can wanting to return the sentiment for all the times Kotetsu has helped him.
