As he started stripping, he finally remembered that Alastor had addressed him.
“Oh, yeah, I’m back,” he said belatedly. “Bee’s parties always go so hard; I forgot how packed her place gets. It was loads of fun, though.” Even if Lucifer no longer had quite as large of a social battery as he used to.
“Is that so?” Alastor drawled, losing interest as he returned to his novel.
“Mhm. Yeah, I haven’t drank that much in… Phew. I don’t think I can handle going down there again anytime this decade.” Lucifer laughed raucously, apologizing when he saw Alastor’s ears pin back as he shot him an annoyed glare.

You found yourself kneeling beside Error, staring at your blue and periwinkle, unmistakably skeletal, hand resting in theirs. For a split second, you could feel their anger, their fear, their agony, then their arm dropped limp by their side soon after and you jolted in alarm, but you couldn’t even say anything before their entire body dissolved into dust and you were alone in the emptiness. You gasped and the sound echoed and was swallowed all at once. You felt the heat of tears dripping down your face but you didn’t have time to mourn the lost soul before the ground cracked open beneath you and you were ejected into the endless abyss of space.

The Shadowcurse creeps into undead flesh like frost. Gale applies the most logical solution to save Astarion: full-body contact. For science. Obviously.
Gale can cuddle Astarion warm through their first night in the Shadow-Cursed Lands—but if he thinks he gets to save someone else while planning to sacrifice himself, Astarion has a few objections to make.
Canon compliance: Takes place in Act 2 just after arriving in the Shadow-cursed Lands and is mostly compliant except for the way the shadowcurse works (see notes)
