He recalled Baekjin and felt the fire smoldering in his belly; he wasn't surprised that Seongje was a follower, a well-trained lapdog; his twin had always had the weaker will of the two.
But Baekjin was a different case, he was a leader. Sugang thought he was a beta because he hadn't sensed any scent emanating from him, but when the aroma of black tea and citrus reached his nose, he realized he had been wrong.
His last toy had not been what he expected; that teacher had been a miscalculation; the irritation still throbbed at the memory, but he had just found a toy that was just as interesting, or perhaps even more so.
He remembered the embroidered crest on his uniform, Yeo-il.
“Baekjin” he whispered, savoring each word, evoking that angry gaze that threatened to reduce him to dust.
He needed to see him again, he needed that sharp gaze to fall on him once more.
And above all, he needed to break him down to his very foundations.

“h-hey,” a soft voice calls out, just barely above a whisper causing sieun to snap his head up to see beomseok tearfully staring at him. “it… it didn’t get you… right?” he asks quietly. sieun feels suho’s eyes bore into him, raking him up and down.
sieun shakes his head, meeting suho’s eyes and holding them with an intensity he didn’t really mean before turning back to beomseok.
“it didn’t get me.” sieun tries to make his voice sound bigger than it actually was but fails. his words come out shaky and a little unsure but he would know if he’d gotten bit — if that’s how you even turn into one of those things.
beomseok makes a strangled little sound, nodding his head before he’s hiding back into the safety of his knees. sieun turns back to suho who looks a little unsure of himself. “it didn’t get you either.” he says in a soft voice, barely sounding like himself. his eyes locking in on suho’s.

its the end of the word as they know it. sieun never expected himself to fall in love but here he is in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, willing to die for not just one boy but two.
