Summary
There's a scene at the end of Captain America where Steve wakes up in a fake 1940s hospital room. A beautiful redhead walks in, handles Research's screw-up poorly, and Steve flees out into Times Square to be met by Fury, who gives him the straight dope. Her helpless flailing bugged me, and I found the scene unsatisfying. This is my revisionist take on that scene, and what comes afterwards. It covers the time Steve spends offscreen learning about his new world between Captain America and The Avengers.
The redhead is a psychiatrist, competent, and assigned to help Steve acclimate to life in the future. Not a completely original character, but neither is she coming at you unadulterated straight out of the tin.

Summary
Aziraphale turns to look at him and he’s welcomed by a vision of black and scarlet. A striking contrast to everyone’s whites and silvers.
The man is wearing a pair of boots Aziraphale finds almost outrageous. They’re black suede, and end right over his knees. Their heels are just a little too high, and the suede wraps around lean ankles just a little too cheekily.

Crowley comes to Aziraphale’s rescue, helping him get into his costume before the masquerade. Except he’ll end up helping with a little more than that.- Language:

“Port gives the worst hangovers in the world, did you know that?” Crowley slurred when the bottle was all gone. “Don’t know who got credit for that one. Nice drink, lovely drink, shame it makes you want to die in the morning.”
“Such a shame,” Aziraphale agreed sadly, watching Crowley stretch out on his sofa. He did like port. He liked Crowley stretched out on his sofa, too.

Summary
Jayne has exchanged his normal ragged T-shirt for a camouflage tank top, and his shoulder muscles roll around each other, flexing as he works, sheened lightly with sweat. He lifts the boxes easily and stacks them higher than his head.
Showing off, Simon thinks bitterly. And then the thought comes: Showing off for me. He doesn't find the concept as uncomfortable as he would have expected.
