You catch the way your presence makes his grip tighten around his cup, the plastic scrunching, the faintest clench in his jaw. It’s all telling, even if he’s trying his best to remain composed. You bite your lip, pleased at the small crack in his armor.
He clears his throat. "You're...persistent," he murmurs, his low voice just barely cutting through the noise of the club. You tilt your head, eyes glinting with mischief.
"Is that a problem?" you ask, your bust now fully pressing against the crux of his arm. He takes a slow breath as if weighing his options, his fingers drumming lightly against his drink.
"No," he finally says, his tone measured and deliberate. "Just unexpected."
(Or: A night out with your girlfriends turns into you setting your sights on a hot, mystery ninja who's more action than words.)
