Summary

There he meets Jacob, a passionate young man, fan of The Vampire Chronicles and Louis' former interpreter in the theatre. Jacob is everything Lestat did not expect: cheerful, free, affectionate, and openly in love with life. His presence ignites something Lestat thought was long dead.

He said with tears running down his cheeks.

Wei Ying felt the words on her tongue, but he couldn't say them. He needed to say them, needed to say the name of his beloved.
"Lan Zhan" Wei Ying whispered.
And the guqin disappeared along with the person.

It begins when Louis receives a handwritten letter nearly three years after their stormy reunion in New Orleans, coinciding with Lestat's highly anticipated second album release.
Or, Lestat is on a healing journey and Louis suddenly realizes he doesn't want him to be better at all- Louis wants to be worse with him.
And-
Maybe Louis will go and find some handsome Italian man, flaunt him in front of Lestat, and possibly even fuck him somewhere Lestat can hear. That'll get Lestat's blood boiling, and he'll definitely pursue Louis once again. Maybe Lestat will even kill the poor guy in a jealous rage, and then they'll end up together again, covered in blood and feral for each other in the best of ways. Isn't that how it's always destined to be?
