Summary
“So it’s getting serious?” Hen asked.
Buck flushed, shrugging one shoulder. “I guess. I like him, I…I think he likes me, it’s been going well.”
“He’s treating you well?” Hen asked, some suspicion in her expression.
“Yes, Mom,” Buck said, rolling his eyes.
Hen cracked a smile, jostled him lightly with a hand on his shoulder. “Alright, okay. Just looking out for you. You deserve someone who’s good to you, and your track record is a little patchy in that regard.”
Buck grimaced. “Ow. But fair.”
Hen patted his shoulder. “It wasn’t an insult, just a reminder. Now let’s get out of here before Gerrard finds us and decides we need to reorganize the supply closet for the third time this week.”

Summary
Maddie is ready to take that step, to buy a house with Howie. But before she does, she needs to have some hard conversations with her brother. She loves him and needs him to know that. Needs him to understand that she is there for him. There were just too many things they both overlooked after being reunited again. And, sure, maybe she purposely overlooked them, happy to be in the sunshiney presence of her baby brother once more, but it was time to actually clear the air. To fully move forward.
And eventually she would have a serious conversation with her brother about the insanely homoerotic level of eye contact he and Eddie shared constantly. She felt like a voyeur being in the same room when they did that.
