Summary
Aziraphale and Crowley are on good terms again, but Crowley’s not sure that their “strictly no romance” Arrangement is enough anymore. The truth is, it feels emotionally unfulfilling, but his heart can’t take another rejection.
But things are about to change: The night after the bullet catch act, Crowley and Aziraphale are at the bookshop when the air raid sirens sound. Sheltered in the basement, bathed in the glow of candlelight, the ground quaking around them, Aziraphale makes a confession that finally frees them to be together.

Running away to a remote, virtually uninhabited wild island, do some research for his latest paper, forget all about his nagging family, his coercive boss, the absolute mess he'd made of his life back in Soho... for five months, Aziraphale could just focus on work, get used to being lonely, and accept that love was not meant for someone like him.

“Anthony J. Crowley.” There was a note of accusation in Aziraphale's voice as he called out the name.
The tone stopped Crowley’s descent and a huge grin lit up his face. It was a thing full of teeth longing for an excuse to bite.
Aziraphale continued, using his words to establish the separation he was determined to maintain. “Tell me, have you turned respectable or are you still playing at being a flash bastard?”
For his part, Crowley looked delighted, obviously taking the statement as a challenge.“Wut,” he called, stretching the word out, sounding almost playful. “Aziraphale Fell!” He enunciated every syllable of the name and smiled the whole way through. “As I live and breathe. Well, I’m sure you’re respectable enough for the both of us.”
