The man interrupts Kara by trying to bite her. His teeth—longer than Human standard—scrape harmlessly against her neck. Saliva wets her throat and shirt collar. It is unpleasant and strange.
This would never happen on Krypton.

Totally Human Kara Danvers has lived on Earth for 3 years now, and a post-graduation drive down the California coast is teaching her a lot about her new home. Along the way, Kara finds herself in a little town called Sunnydale—a town that she finds strange even by Earth standards. But Kara is nothing if not adaptable, and she meets new types of Humans (with yellow eyes and long teeth!) and even makes a new friend when she wanders into a Magic Store.

Lea dreamed of leaving her home in Petalburg and going on an adventure. She wanted to see everything the world had to offer, overcome the hardest trials Hoenn could throw at her, and stand at the top among friends, rivals, and peers. She wanted a team of Pokemon that could stand against all of that, and she's wanted that for years.
She wanted to go on a journey.
Her dream has been on hold for two years. Lea has worked her ass off to help her sister keep their departed Mother's bakery afloat, and the store was starting to feel like a prison cell, from which there was no escape. Her best friend was getting ready to leave home on her own journey, and despite being happy for her, the coming shared birthday felt like a nightmare made real, of a dream being lost for good.
Lea's sister decided to give her the best birthday present she could, and fired her, effective immediately.

The woman is wearing a black tank top and slouchy gray sweatpants that stretch across the curves of her body in a way that makes Hitoka immediately whirl back around lest someone in the room can read her mind full of indecent thoughts. Her short hair is pulled back from her forehead with a tortoiseshell clip, and when she turns around, Hitoka can see she shares Kageyama Tobio’s piercing blue eyes.
“Oh yeah, my older sister’s visiting too,” Kageyama says. He starts unloading his groceries without a care in the world.
