Two years had passed since Sirius’ escape from the cramped cells of Azkaban, but to him, nothing really changed at all. He’d simply traded one prison for another. That much he’d realized as soon as he stepped back into the grim halls of Grimmauld manor. Ever since then, to try and escape the ghosts of his past, he’d fallen into the simplest of routines, never allowing himself to so much as think about the things he’d lost. That was of course until the winter holidays of 1995 came around, and he found himself forced to make the crumbling house slightly more presentable for the sake of an Order meeting. Unfortunately for him, his cleaning session quickly turned into an unwilling discovery that could very well both change his perspective on his happiest years, and the course of the on-going war itself : the diary of his younger brother, Regulus.
