"When did they get you?"
"I was- Peter Parker was 16 when he went missing. Spider turned 24 when he was born." The words come out robotic, practice making the sentence flow quickly and easily. Wade's hand tightens on his neck before it loosens and let's go completely.
"So your name is Peter?"
Spider shakes his head harshly and pretends his eyes aren't watering- soldiers don't cry. Wade keeps his grip tight on his jaw, ignoring the mess of venom getting all over his palms.
"My name is Spider, serial number 2703."
"They've really got you brainwashed, haven't they?"
"I'm not brainwashed. Spider is my name. Peter Parker doesn't exist." Spider looks away from Wade's gaze- he can't help it. Those eyes can see right through him.

It was quiet for a few minutes as they exchanged looks and Hank drew tight circles with his fingertips into the pads of his digits, before Ms. Pryde finally spoke, “I’m sorry, is this some youth culture thing I’m not keeping up with? Pressuring friends into sex with Dawson Creek actors?”

"Dustin?"
He snapped out of it, grabbed his backpack and small duffel bag and climbed out the window, not caring about the rain soaking his already damp day clothes. Now wasn't the time to think about who will see him, they have all seen each other at their worst, it was fine.
Despite having thought that, he felt a huge amount of relief when he saw that it was just Eddie in the passenger seat of Steve's BMW, looking as worried as the man himself. Eddie was also an important figure in his life, so a weight was lifted off his shoulders. He really didn’t want any of his other friends to see him like this.
Steve jumped out of the car and didn't hesitate to bring him into the warmest hug ever, one that Dustin didn't realize he desperately needed until this moment. He let himself cry again, but now he knew that everything will be fine.
