    Summary

    After the first ever Pokémon League Conference in Alola many trainers from beyond the islands' shores decided they wanted to take part, but the traditionalists in the region had no interest in the Island Challenge being reduced to the same as those commercialised soulless gyms that are scattered across the rest of the world by adapting to allow so many foreign trainers to participate. This had people arguing that the Manalo Conference was all faked and not up to the proper standard maintained by the rest of the world. The solution to this turned out not to please anyone. Gyms have been brought to Alola to allow people to qualify for the Conference. The Island Challenge retains its sanctity as exclusive to natives and children who came to live in the region in their youth, as well as being a way to qualify for the Conference by embracing the sort of legal status that facilities like Pokémon Tech in Kanto have.

    This series follows a specific trainer named Georgia and her team as they explore the Alolan Archipelago.
