“—mate,” Wednesday finished, the word a soft, possessive hiss. She reached out with her free hand, her fingers tracing the line of Enid’s jaw with a touch that was surprisingly gentle. “He may have captured my likeness, Enid. But you are the one who holds the copyright to my existence.”
The air crackled with tension. Enid leaned into her touch, her voice barely a whisper. “Is that your way of saying you like me?”
Wednesday’s lips twitched. “It is my way of saying that if anyone else were to give me a portrait, I would use it as kindling for a ritual bonfire. Your possession of it, however, is… logical.”

Summary
Wednesday Addams is not afraid of anything. When she starts having nightmares that lead to terrifying visions, however, she begins to reconsider her stance on that. Experiencing new things, worrying for the safety of her friends and for her own mind, Wednesday struggles to figure out why this new kind of vision is plaguing her, when all the trouble with the Hyde and Crackstone are behind them. With the fencing tournament looming, and the threat of having to follow in her mother's footsteps and perform in the Talent Show adding to her stress, Wednesday had to find a way to balance her paranormal and day to day struggles. Add to all of that the confusing, worryingly warm feelings she now finds burbling inside her dark mind every time she looks at her roommate, and even the indomitable Wednesday finds herself nearing her limits.

Wednesday is feeling atrocious during the summer break. It is appalling how much the heat interrupts her writing schedule.
It is definitely not caused by the frequent silence from her colorful roommate. Nor the fact that Enid's mother keeps trying to set up a mate for her. She comes to visit only because the variety of place may possibly help with her writer's block. And to intimidate some werewolves at Enid's request but that's inconsequential.
What's definitely consequential is Enid's sudden affection. And the fact that Wednesday has to fight really hard not to accept it since Enid isn't of sound mind. The taste of aphrodisiacs being so similar to licorice quickly makes her rethink her favorite sweets.
