It all went downhill from there. Their heads whipped toward him, eyes piercing through his very soul. Somehow, even from a distance and over their own voices, they’d heard him.
And from the looks on their faces, they weren’t happy. The blonde one quickly said something to her friends and plunged into the water, speeding straight towards him.
Oh, he was fucked.
Or: In a world where mermaids and sirens coexist not-so-peacefully, Scara is the crown prince of his kingdom. It's fine, he supposes, even if his mothers have no time for him, his tutor is unbearably condescending, and the general scrutiny from other merfolk makes him want to rip his hair out. On one such occasion, he storms away from the palace and runs into a furious siren named Lumine. It quickly becomes clear why their kinds clash, and Lumine wishes to never have the misfortune of meeting him again.
There’s just one catch: they’re soulmates, and Scara can’t seem to stop coming back. -

Lesbians.
I literally have no other words to describe this, it’s just such a beautiful depiction of lesbian relationships and the dynamics we take on. I’m particularly struck by Furina’s chapter — it hit a little too close to home, with all the love and care they have for each other and how quickly it still ends (and how at least one person tries to cling on for as long as they can). 100/10 i’m in more pain than i wanted to be reminded of, but i love it anyway
