“So you’re saying that I invited myself to your apartment with the intention of sex, and you just… went with it? No convincing needed?”
It’s hard to tell in the candlelit room, but Emma swears she notices a hint of red on Regina’s cheeks. Emma chuckles and shrugs.
“Who am I to turn down a beautiful woman desperate for sex on her birthday?” Emma teases, giving her a goofy smile.
Regina sucks her teeth with a slight tsk sound. For a brief second, Emma thinks she might be embarrassed, but she quickly recovers, plastering on a mayoral smile.
“Semantics. It doesn’t matter whose idea it was; we’re both here now, aren’t we? We came for the same thing, and clearly you’re looking forward to the arrangement,” she says, and Emma’s heart thumps. She can’t tell if Regina’s mocking her as she waves to the candles that light the room.
