    For CodyWan Week Day/Prompt 3: Soulmates

    For the vast majority of the galaxy at large, soulmates were notoriously difficult to find. Most beings only ever had a handful of Dreams at the most to gather clues from, and most of those Dreams were superficially normal and calm—most people weren’t in mortal danger very often, after all, and even when they were, the danger wasn’t often quite so obvious.

    The same did not hold true for two groups of people in the galaxy, however. Two groups who faced mortal danger quite often—on a daily basis, for many: the Jedi, and the clones of Kamino.

    (One note - I mis-clicked when initially posting this... The major character death tag was removed; I had meant to select No Archive Warnings Apply. You are safe here, LOL!)

    (And one more note - soulmates can be platonic or romantic in this ’verse, and though there are clones with clone soulmates, none of them are explicitly shown to be romantic. Headcanon as you like on that one!)

    He’s in his Red Robin uniform, and the sight of it brings his most recent memories into stark focus. He remembers the magician Nightwing and himself had been called in to help Batman and Robin apprehend. He remembers the snarl on the man’s face as he’d flung brightly colored spells around at random, equal parts furious and desperate after Robin had successfully relocated the hostage. He remembers a deep blue spell heading towards Nightwing’s unprotected back.

    He remembers stepping into the line of fire.

    It's not entirely unexpected when nobody responds to Red Robin's emergency beacon. He knew he was expendable. He stopped being a real part of the family a long time ago. But he'd still hoped. That's why when Batman showed up and promised him that He'd be okay, he believed him. But it doesn't take long to realize that this Batman isn't his. Now, after traveling back with this new Batman, Tim has to learn how to live in a universe that cares.

    TLDR: Tim gets rescued by Bruce from the YJ universe and he isn't used to people caring about his existence.

    This is a TimKon fic but I also have no self control so a lot of background relationships.
