Summary
OR: The Witch Becomes Her Own Worst Enemy (in an Occupational Sense)
Due to contrived and largely arbitrary reasons, the Long Quiet has ended up outside of the construct, unable to save the world and slay the person he was sent to kill. But the construct requires someone to fill their role whenever possible in order to prevent it from failing entirely. So, the task of "slaying the Princess" falls on to the only other person available... which is the Princess herself.
This was a love story at one point. I'm not entirely sure that's still the case.

Summary
"But Grian can't deal with burying Mumbo, he can't fathom leaving him down and out of sight in the ground to rot without him. They would rot together if Grian had anything to say about it! Their hearts would die united and well and Grian would be content with living."
or
When the tower Grian built kills Mumbo, he finds himself helplessly reaching for the one thing he thinks can make everything better, though maybe not in the way he was imagining.
It only makes things worse.

Summary
You tremble as you reach it — The threshold. The liminal space between you and Her, between you and your fate, be it victory or defeat.
But, everyone knows which one it is, don't they?.
Falling to your knees. The towering Princess lifts your chin with Her index finger, and watching her face, her expression, her eyes — you realize you won't be able to kill her.
The puddles of blood you kneel on top off, the tremble on your grip, the voices in your head. They all tell you you don't deserve to hold the implement that would bring down this about to be world-ender.
But that doesn't mean you've ran out of options.
There are more ways to cut through a princess's heart.

Summary
Finally, Grian and Mumbo reached the edge of the island. It was a mosaic of rolling fields, rocky cliffs, a distant village half-hidden by a copse of spruce trees. While taking in their surroundings, they were joined by Scar, perfectly put-together and dressed to the nines in a three-piece suit, nothing like how he’d appeared earlier when Grian and Mumbo just barely missed running him over with their boat—bedraggled and soaking wet, looking like a cat that had slipped and fallen into a bathtub.
The three of them were quick to claim this area as their own, placing a crafting bench on the ground. Then, on top, a boat. Then a purple bed. Then another boat. Grian turned away for a second, and in that moment of lost focus Impulse slipped into the boat at the bottom of the stack without him noticing.
Well, with a total of four people, they needed a name for this pillar of boats, didn't they? Boatem Pole, Mumbo was quick to suggest, much to Grian's delight. Puns! They may have been the lowest form of comedy, but they never failed to make Grian laugh.

Summary
You are getting yourself a glass of water, when you notice that your faucet is not dripping as it usually does.
The pipes are leaky and the head is ill-fitting, despite your best efforts to make a plumber of yourself when you installed them at the beginning of the season. It’s become normal, but, now– you have turned it on smoothly. There is not a single stray drop of water still leaking from its copper mouth.
You kneel down, your knees getting wet and scraping uncomfortably against the rough concrete basin, and you stare up through the pipe. It almost feels as though something is staring back.

Summary
'Do you ever wish reality worked the same as it did in a novel, able to be tied up in a neat bow and knowing that there's a safety in a book? Between the pages is an escape from everything that reality brings forth, a seamless ability to close the covers and take a break when it gets to its worse.'
Grian shook his head, dispelling the idea while looking down at hands stained in blood from everything that had been taken, the strain put on mind and body alike with the weight of a world he created, he twisted, to fit the whims of masters he thought he'd long since escaped-
'Unfortunately, reality never has the same kind of happy endings, and this isn't a story. However much the desire for otherwise, this is the nature of reality...'

Summary
Scar opened his eyes to . . . nothing. That was strange; he was certain he'd felt the twitch of his eyelids as they opened, knew that he was standing up and moving through . . . Wait, was he even moving right now?
Vision came back to him like a lacy curtain being slowly drawn back. The blackness went fuzzy, turned grey at the centre, and then slowly peeled itself away. Scar was left staring at darkness again, but this time the darkness was that of a dimly lit area.
He could see the walls of an unfamiliar building, random pieces of furniture: an armchair here, a dresser there, a switched-off lamp on a table—he must be in a house or apartment or something. There was carpet under his feet that were walking him through the building—he couldn't feel himself walking. Why couldn't he feel himself walking?

Summary
After a long absence from Hermitcraft, Grian returns for a casual sleepover reunion at Scar’s new mega-base: an old tower near a flooded river delta with pixelated fish and flickering light. The night feels too perfect. Scar is too cheerful. The others seem… off. The server isn’t just a server any more; it’s been compromised, bleeding into real consciousness. Or maybe that already happened.

Grian blinks at the paper, to the code that’s been printed against the page and finds that he can’t immediately read it. Not altogether worrying but it is weird—living on the server as they do, their eyes tend to perceive code as reality rather than ones and zeroes.

Summary
“Well, Mr. Wright,” Phoenix says, smirking and tapping a finger against his temple, “what exactly did you mean by ‘believing in the power of love’?”
Miles stays silent for longer than feels reassuring, staring at him with deep, serious gray eyes. And then, something in them changes, and —
“You — !” Miles laughs, finally, and Phoenix wants to hold onto that laugh forever. “Oh, why, Mr. Edgeworth,” Miles continues, clearly trying to fight back a grin, “I would have thought I had made myself clear on that matter years ago.”

Summary
A thin mist had clung to Boatem like a cloak for several days, lingering regardless of weather, humidity, or time. The wispy grey clouds had appeared not long after Grian returned to the server alone, the weight of a thousand untold stories burdening his shoulders and the voices of lost friends deafening him despite the eerie silence. They had been quiet at first, like whispers, but had quickly grown into a crescendo.
This was him. This was his fault. They wanted to be sure he knew it.
Slotting back into the routine of Hermitcraft was easy enough, even if he lived in a ghost town. It was easy enough to pick up where he’d left off, to restock his shops and to take his shulker boxes to his mountain. It was easy enough to take moss, leaves, and grass to detail the edges. Everything was easy enough.
He didn’t like that it was easy enough.
