He felt like he had nothing left in Metropolis, but he didn’t feel like he had a place in Smallville, Kansas either. As always, his existence was lonely, so when he heard about a fair in town, he went, hoping to be cheered up.

There had been museum thefts recently, but his investigations as Batman had shed no light to the matter, so he chose to infiltrate a small carnival, which was, most likely, a stop of stolen objects on their way to the Pacific, all along an overly excited Dick Grayson, who missed the circus life.
