The truth of the matter was that when it came to taking care of people and their problems, both he and Wei Ying were of one mind. However, whereas Lan Wangji was taught to care for himself as much as other people, Wei Ying, from early age, was taught that him having needs was burdensome. He disregarded his own pain with frightening ease and offered up evey part of himself for others to use with no reservation.
Thus, Lan Wangji made sure that his husband's needs were never overlooked, his hurts never unadressed.
So it was that when they purified an ancient temple and its goddess benevolently offered them each a wish in return, Wei Ying asked for his family: for Jiang Cheng to never have lost his parents and his core, for Jiang Yanli to never have lost her husband and her own life because of him; Lan Zhan asked for Wei Ying.

A loud bang beside him startled Jisung, and he skittered away from the street. The dog yelped, and even though Jisung couldn’t see it, he could feel it retreating.
He was safe.
His body collapsed under him, and he heard thundering footsteps approaching.
“You poor thing,“ a voice spoke, and it sounded too familiar. “What did that mean dog do to you?“
Arms scooped him up, and his eyes didn’t want to focus on his surroundings. But when Jisung inhaled, he froze. He knew that smell. Knew that cologne, that underlying musk.

Minho quirks a brow at the clumsy display, stuffs his hands in his pockets. The cute little mechanic is amusing, he’ll admit. Makes him want to say something completely out-of-left-field just to see his reaction; he imagines big round eyes, a disconcerted pout. Adorable.
Minho shrugs. “I fumbled one too many romantic prospects east of the Continental Divide, and I have too much of a pariah complex to handle it maturely.”

Or: Following another catastrophic end to a long list of failed relationships, Minho decides to pack up and start his life anew, but his plans are thwarted when his car breaks down on his drive across the Rocky Mountains. He braces himself for the teasing. For Minho to laugh or roll his eyes or call him dramatic. But none of that happens. Instead, Minho shifts slightly, propping himself up on one elbow so he can look down at Jisung properly.
“It doesn’t sound crazy,” Minho says simply.
Jisung blinks up at him. “It doesn’t?”
jisung starts having dreams about his past life, and minho—his perfect boyfriend—is in them too... but unfortunately not the kind of person jisung would have wished him to be.

He feels his body relaxing in an instant, his limbs loosening up and his mind clearing until he starts feeling almost sleepy. Maybe, if he was a little more awake, or if this wasn’t Jisung, he’d feel more worried about the way he’s behaving right now, but he doesn’t think about it once. He just finds himself relaxing more and more, feeling safe and comfortable after so long.
or: Because of how omegas are talked about at the university he goes to, Minho lives his life posing as an alpha. He hides his secret almost effortlessly, but things change when he meets Jisung.
