Tobirama was well placed in his colony. First choice of food, ample living quarters, respect from the few peers he chose to associate with. He was not happy. He wanted to reproduce. Tobirama was stuck. He would never be male again. It was perpetual immaturity or female reproduction for him.

Summary
As heir to the Hatake clan, Kakashi is no stranger to having omega slaves shoved in his face as the council begs him to carry on the line. Unfortunately for them, he's not interested, and they would do well to stop trying now, thank you. So he thinks nothing of it when his father asks him to attend another showing, and shares pleasantries that don't really mean anything.
But the omega at the far end of the line is rather strange, more than a little damaged, and might have caught his eye.

And it had already been ten minutes since he had been able to see anything and the young man had been calling him an idiot in his beard all this time, as if Sakumo could not hear him.

"Tobi! I haven't heard from you in months! How are things going at the school?" Hashirama's voice was loud, even with the volume turned down on Tobirama’s phone.
"Everything is going well. I've been accepted into the Master's degree program for Organic Chemistry." He folded the bloody rag he had used to clean his newly-stitched thigh and set it into a worn duffle bag. "I spend most of my time in the lab nowadays so I haven't had much free time to call. I'm sorry, anija." Picking up his shotgun, he started the process of dismantling it on the cheap hotel bed he was sitting on so it could be properly cleaned.
"I may be able to come home sometime this summer, though.”
Or
Tobirama takes a break from hunting for a few weeks to visit his brothers. Secrets are brought to light and he finds that Hashirama’s best friend is more of a monster than he thought he was.

After his father drops a major bombshell on him the very night he lost his brother, completely ruining any semblance of a normal life for him, he’s forced to question his very existence. He does his best to put himself back together.
