Summary
Edelgard had to convince her family veterinary school was a worthy pursuit, while Dimitri's was thrilled he had aimed so high. Byleth was supposed to be a family vet and was instead requisitioned by the veterinary school to teach her father's subject, surgery. Join the Garreg Mach University College of Veterinary Medicine's newest cohort as they embark on the ultimate hero's journey: veterinary school!

Summary
Dreams have always been Byleth's constant companion. Her first memory is that of a green-haired woman facing down a man with fiery red eyes in a desolate hellscape, but it’s not her memory. Regardless, it haunted her every night since the day she could form memories. Then when she was older, her dreams morphed into a cacophony of voices ringing out: some begged forgiveness, others cried out for help, and some praised her. Try as she might, Byleth could not pick out a single voice in the chaos. The effect was maddening like trying to listen to five conversations at once in a crowded marketplace.
That is until one night, she dreams of a girl covered in fresh scars chained to a wall. The girl pleads for the Goddess to save her and her siblings, but when no divine intervention arrives, Byleth decides to take matters into her own hands.

Summary
Edelgard lives in a world in which Nemesis has beaten Seiros, and the Agarthans evolve their technology without any ethical constraints. Magic is a heavily classified deep state secret, and humanity once again finds itself being manipulated by inhuman creatures from shadows. The recently infamous Flame Emperor struggles to strike back against this overwhelmingly powerful system of oppression with nothing but her small squad of loyal mercenaries.
What's worse, she's being haunted by flashes of another life she doesn't remember living. These flashes only seem to grow worse around the time the terrifying Ashen Demon makes their appearance. The Demon seems to hold many secrets of their own, and has an odd fixation with Edelgard's goals. The Flame Emperor fights to uncover many of these countless haunting truths.
Heavily inspired by "Edelgard of the Rebellion" by JSGuardian. Also inspired by “The Emperor and the Goddess” by Captain_Flash and “The Nature of Fire” by ShinjiShazaki. (Although, those aren’t required reading to understand this fic.)
Note: Chapter 2 is technically the first chapter of the “main story”. Chapter 1 is a brief prologue in Byleth’s PoV.
